Buying tickets
Telecontrolled ticket machines, special functions for visually impaired passengers or tickets by telephone: Customers can choose from a variety of ZVV sales channels.
You can buy your tickets quickly and easily with the ZVV self-service channels. However, the ZVV also offers various ticket purchase options for passengers with physical disabilities.
ZVV app, check-in tickets and the online ticket shop
- The easiest way to buy single tickets, multiple-journey tickets and Travelcards is in the ZVV app.
- If you don't want to worry about zone plans and fares, you can travel with the ZVV check-in ticket. Simply activate the check-in function before boarding.
- You can buy and print ZVV tickets from home in the online ticket shop.
Telephone customer service and telephone tickets
- Tickets can be ordered at ZVV-Contact. They are immediately loaded onto your SwissPass.
- Passengers with an "Identity card for disabled passengers" can also buy ZVV tickets by telephone on the free number 0800 181 181 (SBB Contact Center). The tickets are available immediately.
Telecontrolled ticket machine
Customers can get telephone assistance when buying a ticket at any ZVV machine. You can call the freephone number indicated on the machine and ask our customer service to help you. A member of our customer service team will remotely control the machine and guide you through the ticket purchase process. The ticket will be issued on the spot. The customer can pay for the ticket directly at the machine in cash or with a standard credit or debit card.
This service is available at ZVV and SBB machines in the ZVV area. You will find the telephone number on the ticket machine. The service is available every day from 06:00 to 22:00. You can buy almost the entire range of ZVV tickets at the ticket machines.

4-quadrant modus
Visually impaired passengers can use the "4-quadrant" modus on the ticket machine with enlarged text and voice output.
The 4-quadrant modus displays the four tickets which have been most commonly sold at that location in an amplified shape in four quadrants. Along with the 4-quadrant display, the text displayed is also announced via audio upon request.
Counter and disability card
For personal advice, staff are available at various manned counters. We have compiled a list of the sales outlets in the ZVV.
Disabled people living in Switzerland can take an accompanying person and/or a guide dog with them free of charge if they have the appropriate "Identity card for disabled passengers" (accompanying card). Either the traveller or the accompanying person must be in possession of a valid ticket. Find more information on how to obtain the accompanying card here.
Wheelchair
Wheelchairs are carried free of charge if the user is travelling with one and their safety is guaranteed.
