Connection search

The easiest and fastest way to find barrier-free connections is to use the online timetable or the ZVV app.

You can check whether your connections are barrier-free in the ZVV app and on the ZVV online timetable to plan your journey better.

Find obstacle-free connections in the ZVV app

Follow these steps to view accessibility information in the ZVV app:

  1. Search for your desired connection.
  2. The accessibility information is displayed by default at each station (boarding point, transfer point and alighting point). You can find out more about the meaning of the symbols  here

3. Tap the sliders in the search window to go to the "Timetable options".
4. Choose between the following filter options:

Barrier-free with/without pre-announcement
If you select this filter option, the ZVV app will show you all connection options that can be used with or without pre-announcement. If your connection requires assistance from the driver (without pre-announcement), this will be indicated by the appropriate icon in the connection.

Barrier-free without pre-announcement

If you select this filter option, the ZVV app will show you all connection options that can be used without pre-announcement.

Min. transfer time
This filter option allows you to extend the minimum transfer time. Please note that with longer transfer times, certain connections may no longer be displayed or the itinerary may change if the transfer time is increased.

Find barrier-free connections in the ZVV online timetable.

The ZVV online timetable displays the barrier-free information as standard. It is displayed at each station (boarding location, transfer location, and exit location). Learn more about the meaning of the icons here. To search for only barrier-free connections, proceed as follows:

1. In the navigation on zvv.ch, select "Timetable" and then "Timetable query".
2. Select "Advanced search" to access the display and filter options.
3. Activate the corresponding checkbox "I am only interested in barrier-free connections."
4. Choose between the following filter options:

Only connections without pre-announcement

If you select this filter option, the ZVV app will show you all connection options that can be used without pre-announcement. If your connection requires the driver to help you get on or off the bus (without pre-announcement), this will be indicated by a corresponding icon in the connection.

Also connections with pre-announcement

If you select this filter option, the ZVV app will show you all connections that can be used with or without pre-announcement.

TThe vehicle details in the online timetable and the ZVV app are based on data that is updated daily. In the event of operational disruptions, it may not be possible to use low-floor vehicles despite planning. Up-to-date information on the use of low-floor vehicles can be obtained from ZVV Contact at 0800 988 988.
