Connecting Tickets: Travel Further with Flexibility

Need to continue your journey beyond your ticket or pass validity? Connecting tickets allow you to travel in zones outside the scope of your existing ticket or subscription.

Connecting Travel Within the Network Area

If you have a Z-Pass and wish to travel further within a participating network, you’ll need a standard ticket from the zone where your Z-Pass ends.

Exceptions:

  • If the vehicle stops within your Z-Pass validity area, you can use a connecting ticket from the adjacent zone.
  • If it does not stop (e.g., express trains), you need a full ticket starting from the last stop within your Z-Pass validity area.

Example:

Route: Baden–Schlieren (Zones 154, 570, 572) to Zurich HB.

If traveling via S-Bahn lines with a stop in Zone 154, you need a ZVV ticket for Zone 110 or a ZVV connecting ticket for 1–2 zones.

If traveling by express train without stopping in Zone 154, you need a Z-Pass ticket covering Baden–Zurich with Zones 110, 111, 117, 154, 570, 572.

Note:
Zone 110 is counted twice for pricing. Zones 111 and 117 are free zones included in the fare for this connection.
