Travelling with a pushchair
Making a journey with a pushchair can present a challenge. Here you will find some practical tips on travelling with children and pushchairs.
Thanks to low-floor vehicles and ground-level stops and access points, it is safe to use public transport with a pushchair.
Pushchairs go free
You do not need an extra ticket for a pushchair.
Avoid peak times
During peak hours it can be difficult to find enough space for a pushchair. Please travel outside of these times if possible.
Step-free access
Take advantage of the convenience of our low-floor vehicles. For detailed information on low-floor vehicles, please click here or consult the online timetable or ZVV app.
Designated spaces for pushchairs
All low-floor vehicles have designated storage areas for pushchairs just inside the doors; even the older trams and buses provide sufficient space for pushchairs. The relevant door is indicated with a pushchair symbol.
Pushchair button
Press the pushchair or wheelchair button if you need more time or assistance with boarding and alighting.
River boats
Please note that space is very limited on Limmat river boats. For this reason, pushchairs must be folded. On all other ZSG scheduled services, it is not possible to carry pushchairs more than 80cm wide.
